New Year

New Year (we call it "Novyi God") is coming. Here in Russia it is more important than Christmas, because our country is multi-confessional. We`ve got all sorts of Christmases here, but New Year gathers us all in the same place at the same time. It is believed that New Year always gives us an opportunity to start a new life. We like to start a new life.

It has become a tradition that the weather is not New Yearish at all — no snow, no cold, just wind and some water.

Unfortunately, I am not very happy with New Year because I don`t have money to buy presents (we call it "podarki") to my friends and my girlfriend ("devushka") Larisa. At lest we`ve got some candles and food, so the holiday will go on.

The bad thing is that I have to go to work on the 1st of January, thanks god I am not drinking alcohol.

I wish you a Happy New Year, and wish you could have enough money to celebrate it.

If you wish to give me a present, please send some money for my dream-of-life, the aluminium Apple iMac 24". My Webmoney wallet number is Z385753525665.

Apple remote

I love that Apple remote gadget. I think it`s so cool to use your computer from a distance. The Front Row application is beautiful too, I enjoy those rotating flashy icons. It`s a pity they`ve changed it in Leopard.

Dialog with my boss

Once my boss (we call him "nachalnik") approached me and said: "Vasiliy, you are not working hard, i`ll fire you." "You can not fire me, nachalnik," — I answered, "because you don`t pay me. It means that I don`t work for you."

So, I`m still working in the newspaper ("gazeta", remember?) and earn 320 dollars a month.

Wacom tablet

My treasure is a Wacom Tablet (we call it "planshet"). I had to work overnight to collect money on it, my parents and friends also helped me. And now I`m proud to be a happy owner of such a beautiful device, which helps me a lot.

Unfortunately I dont have a computer, so I am restricted to use it on my workplace. Funny, isn`t it?

Hello everyone!

Hi! My name is Vasiliy Petrov.

I live in Russia, in it`s northern part. However, it is not so cold here this year, but the wind (we call it "veter") is still blowing.

I work in a newspaper (we call it "gazeta") and make grayscale ads for it. It is a hard and low payed job. We all use Microsoft Windows and Corel Draw to create ads, but I love Apple and Adobe products. I dont have a computer at home however. My salary (we call it "zarplata") is low, I earn only 8000 rubles a month, it is about 320 US dollars. I have to spend all my salary on appartment, food and my girlfriend (we call it "devushka") Larisa. I take her to the cinema once a month.

My only wish is to buy a good computer, quit the newspaper job and earn more money myself, so that I can marry Larisa and raise children. I want to buy an Apple IMac 24" aluminium, it costs 72 000 rubles (about 2900 US dollars) here in Russia. But the computer is far too expensive for me. I have to work for 7 years to be able to buy it.

But I dont give up, and still do my best to achieve my goal. So I create this blog to tell everyone about me, my girlfriend, my job and my dream. Feel free to read, comment and afford any help you can.

I`ve got an Webmoney account, so you can send me small amounts of money if you wish. I would greatly appreciate it. But don`t feel sorry if you don`t have enough money to help people like me. But if you can tell me an easier way to get donations I would appretiate it. I cannot use Paypal because it doesn`t work here in Russia.

Anyway, thanks for reading, I hope this blog will at last help you to understand the ways of Russia.

I use an internet cafe to post to this blog, so don`t worry if I don`t answer fast.

p.s. Thanks for your patience. And forgive me for my english, i don`t know it very well.
